A warm cream base splattered with orange, moss green, and charcoal, this is the coziest of speckles!

Iceland is home to over 60% of the Atlantic’s puffin population during the summer months, and lots of people go out of their way to see them! I actually didn’t get to on my trip to Iceland, but there were plenty of huge and very friendly seagulls to make up for it.

I recently learned that in the Westman Islands, which are near the largest Icelandic puffin colonies, fledgling puffins often mistake the lights of town for the moon and get lost trying to strike out on their own. This has led to a tradition of going out at night with flashlights to catch the wayward puffins in boxes, to be thrown off the cliff to the ocean where they belong the next morning!

Our yarns are hand-dyed with professional fiber reactive dyes on soft, eco-friendly vegan fibers. We do our best to represent yarn colors accurately in the listing photos, but please keep in mind that hand-dyed yarn inherently varies a bit from skein to skein, and different monitors may display colors differently.

Yarn is made in a smoke-free, pet-free environment. A scented soap is used at the beginning of the dye process on all bases except Anacostia and Severn, but is rinsed repeatedly after this; yarns otherwise do not contain fragrances.

To reduce our impact on the planet, our packaging is made of 100% plastic-free natural materials. Please reuse, recycle, or compost every piece!
