Not sure what project is good for our yarn? Try out Chesapeake Organic Cotton Worsted with this knit colorwork cowl kit!

The Sunset Mesa Cowl is designed by Jennifer Berg of Native Knitter. It is a beginner-friendly colorwork pattern largely consisting of short floats, which are especially friendly to cotton yarn. The plump Organic Cotton Worsted base is next-to-skin soft for those who cannot tolerate wool.

We are offering this kit in Balsamic for the main color and either Pumpkin (orange) or Beets (pink) as the contrast.

The sample pictured is knit in Balsamic and Pumpkin by Lauren Risby. The yarn pictured is our Potomac Cotton-Linen base (skeined) and our Chesapeake Organic Cotton base (unskeined); the two dye up identically.

You will receive 1 skein each of Balsamic and either Pumpkin or Beets on our 4-6 week dyed to order turnaround. You will also receive a download code by email for the Sunset Mesa Cowl pattern within 3-5 business days of placing your order. The pattern is downloaded through Ravelry, so please get in touch if you are unable to use this method of download and we will get it to you another way!

Our yarns are hand-dyed with professional fiber reactive dyes on soft, eco-friendly vegan fibers. We do our best to represent yarn colors accurately in the listing photos, but please keep in mind that different monitors may display colors differently.

Yarn is made in a smoke-free, cat-friendly home.

To reduce our impact on the planet, our packaging is made of 100% plastic-free natural materials. Please reuse, recycle, or compost every piece!

Care Instructions

To keep finished objects looking their best, hand-wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.

Each skein is hand-washed thoroughly after dyeing, but please keep in mind that minimal bleeding or crocking can still occur on first wash. A prewash is recommended for projects using multiple colors, especially saturated colors.

As with all hand-dyed yarns, especially plant fibers, slight variations should be expected between batches and even within dye lots. We strongly advise purchasing all skeins for a project at the same time to ensure they come from the same dye lot. It is also best practice to alternate skeins as you work.
